Arirang

With "Arirang", old folk song of Korea as the theme song, it shows the modern history of about one hundred years of Korean nation. It has been appreciated as one of the masterpieces of the world. It has been recorded in Guinness World Records from August 2007.

Kimilsungia-Kimjongilia Exhibition

Kimilsungia and Kimjongilia festivals take place every year in the DPRK marking April 15, the birthday of President Kim Il Sung, and February 16, the birthday of the leader Kim Jong Il.

Kimilsungia is a beautiful flower named and presented by former Indonesian President Sukarno after the botanists developed it. Kimjongilia was developed by Japanese botanist Kamo Mototeru for about 20 years.

These flower festivals are held in the Kimilsungia-Kimjongilia Exhibition House in Taedonggang District, Pyongyang.

Military parade and mass demonstration

Military parade and mass demonstration usually took place with splendour at Kim Il-sung Square in Pyongyang twice a year in April 25 and July 27 to celebrate the Founding day of the Korean People’s Army and the anniversary of the Day of the Victory in the Fatherland Liberation War respectively.
Various military weapons, including armoured personnel carriers, tanks and artilleries and short-, medium- and long-range missiles marched through the square filled with Pyongyang citizens following the procession of infantry units. Helicopters and aircraft hovered over the square to boost the festive mood.

April Spring Friendship Art Festival

The festival is traditionally held on the occasion of the birthday of the President. It is one of the largest art festivals in the world with varieties of programs including songs, dances and acrobatics.

Grand Bull Prize National Ssirum [Korean Wrestling] Contest

National Ssirum(Korean Wrestling) Tournament for Grand Bull Prize is held on the occasion of Harvest Moon Day (15th day of the eighth lunar month), a folk holiday every year.
